- Auto Sync

When ticked, allows the user to set the time period between synchronizations. Each time this interval passes, every job that is marked for periodic synchronization will be run. You can change whether or not a job is marked for periodic synchronization by editing the job's properties (right click on the job and select edit).

-Maximum Log Length

MobSync records its synchronization actions into a log. This option sets the maximum number of lines to which this log may grow. The log file contains information about what files were copied, and can be displayed from the Tools->Show Log menu option.

- Automatically Start when the device connects

If checked, MobSync starts automatically when a device connects. In order to use this option, your user must have administrator privileges on the machine.

- Pause Before Startup

Causes MobSync to wait for a period of time after the device connects before starting automatically. This option is useful if errors occur when automatically starting, so try checking this option first to try to resolve the error.

- Automatically End when the device disconnects

If checked, MobSync terminates automatically when a device disconnects. In order to use this option, your user must have administrator privileges on the machine.

Technical Notes

The automatic start / stop feature in MobSync is based on a service provided by ActiveSync. MobSync is not watching ActiveSync. The command to start / stop MobSync is placed into the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\AutoStartOnConnect" (and "AutoStartOnDisconnect") keys in the Windows registry. If you are interested about this functionality, please put a check into this box, push the "OK" button, and open the key in the registry editor (regedit). This functionality can be used to run any program command line on connect / disconnect, not just MobSync. The name of the values is not important; just the data section.
